6th of November, and I still haven’t had a hard frost. :( That’s a good 6-7 weeks beyond “normal”, and the effect on landscapes / plant populations is something to consider. Same issue arises in spring, only in reverse.
Tune in for a webinar on 12 December. I’ll talk thru the fall / winter work we can do to launch most efficiently into the spring season. Winter is not the time to back off… the invasives are dormant, yes, but take full advantage of that lull. Info at www.ecolandscaping.org
I’m honored to speak at the Wildflower Association of Michigan annual conference in March. Great energy and creativity in Michigan! Those dates are 4 and 5 March, have a look at www.wildflowersmich.org
I visited Ireland in late September. Brilliant trip, and fascinating to see which species are most problematic. A different set of nuances to the land there, but it’s those little micro-factors that we have to gain an understanding of. Big conference next September in Dublin. Planning to attend, and will absolutely re-visit the Irish Seed Savers not far from Shannon airport. A must for a visit if heading over. Cheers.
